How Much Money Can A Person Earn At A Freelance Site?

JobsatHome, Service provider's Guide

The amount of money that a person can earn at freelance site depends on many things. The earnings can vary from person to person due to different factors that influence the earnings. Some people may make more money than they could make via doing a full time day job. On the other hand, other people may only be able to earn few bucks per month at freelance sites.

What are the main factors that have influence on the money that a person can earn at freelance sites?

The most important factor is the type of job that we choose to do. Some jobs pay good money where others pay low. Here is a list of jobs that pays good:

List A
Coding In PHP, ASP, .NET and other in demand languages
Website designing
Setting up sites, installing scripts at servers, creating Wordpress blogs and other jobs that has something to do with sites and hosting
Work related to JavaScript
SEO [Search Engine Optimization]
Copywriting
Etc

And here is a list of jobs that pay less money:

List B
Simple typing work
Image editing
Document formatting
Copy/paste job
Online data searching
Translation
Online form filling
Etc

So if a person chooses to do a job from List A, then he/she will obviously earn more money compared to a person who will choose to do a job from List B.

Why will anyone choose to do a job from List B?

The answer is quite simple. Not everybody have the skills that are required to do jobs mentioned in the List A. For example: to do PHP coding, one need to have good knowledge about PHP language. One needs to learn and practice in this coding language if he wants to do any PHP work at a freelance site. Learning PHP can take months or years.

Other example includes copywriting work where people will need to have excellent English Content Writing Skills.

So the bottom line is that the type of job that you choose to do at freelance site will influence the amount of money that you can make at freelancing sites.

Jobsathome: Project Review at GAF: $1 per 100 Words : Part 67

JobsatHome, Online Copywriting Jobs, Project Reviews

Copywriting job 1:

Buyer Trust:

Buyer is a gold member and has one rating. On a closer look at this buyer’s rating profile, you can see that, he/she is a writer/[service provider] himself.

Anyway, what really is surprising is that: in this project, this buyer is willing to pay $10 to $12 per 100 words. The project is to write 10, 300 words articles.

The buyer is willing to pay $1 per 100 words and you can earn at least $30 for writing 10, 300 words article.

Why is this buyer buying such good money when he/she is a service provider himself/herself?

I saw this buyer’s rating profile and saw few article rewriting jobs that this buyer completed and for which he/she got feedbacks too.

If a buyer is a service provider himself/herself and that he/she even do re-writing jobs [we all know that re-writing jobs pay less money], then why is this buyer paying such good amount of money for the project he/she opened?

Conclusion:

Whatever the reason is for paying such good money: I think it is ok to at least place a bid on this project and write down a PM. See if the buyer really is paying this kind of money for this work.

Also, I think that old members that have good ratings; at least they should only do this work if and only if the buyer put all the money in Escrow. For new comers: try to use Escrow, if buyer is not willing to use Escrow, then I guess it is up to you to decide whether to do this work or not.

NOTE: I am not saying anything bad about the buyers. I am not saying that any buyer is a scam. The reason why I may say that a project is unacceptable: is just my own thought based on my freelancing experience

Copywriting job 1:

Buyer Trust:

This buyer does not have any ratings and have opened two projects out of which, one project is awarded to a service provider.

Despite of that, I think this buyer is a legit one. The project is extremely easy to do. SP just needs to write 3 or so 155 words articles for a website.

Conclusion:

I personally have a feeling that this buyer will pay some really good money for this project.

So everyone, new and old members of GAF: this is a great chance to earn some good money pretty fast.

NOTE: I am not saying anything bad about the buyers. I am not saying that any buyer is a scam. The reason why I may say that a project is unacceptable: is just my own thought based on my freelancing experience

Jobsathome: Project Review at GAF: 15 FAQs: Part 65

Copywriting job 1:

Buyer Trust:

Buyer has 10 ratings. And buyer only placed one bid as a service provider which pretty much not makes him a SP himself.

I guess we can trust the buyer.

Conclusion:

Buyer mentioned few requirements. The job is to write 15 FAQs. Buyer mentioned that he/she wants the writer to study his/her site and answer the questions that are asked by the visitors.

I actually have not understood this and I think anyone who wants to do this work, should clarify things using PM.

Buyer has not mentioned the rate: so it looks like the pay will be decent. New comers and old members both can place their bids on this project.

NOTE: I am not saying anything bad about the buyers. I am not saying that any buyer is a scam. The reason why I may say that a project is unacceptable: is just my own thought based on my freelancing experience

Copywriting job 1:

Buyer Trust:

Buyer is a gold member. First thing is first: check to see is the buyer is service provider himself or not.

I checked and found that he has only posted this project only which suggests that he/she is not a service provider.

The rate is $2.5 per 400-450 words. I think this is a pretty good rate for service providers with few ratings. Even high ranked SPs can do this work if they have no other project to do.

But this project is a great opportunity for the new comers to earn some money plus get some ratings.

Conclusion:

I highly recommend new comers to place bid on this project. Currently only two people have placed their bids on this project: try to place your bid as soon as possible.

NOTE: I am not saying anything bad about the buyers. I am not saying that any buyer is a scam. The reason why I may say that a project is unacceptable: is just my own thought based on my freelancing experience
